From the first phone call to our admissions staff, we begin to craft a program for while patients are with us, and then what is going to happen when they leave us. Coming to a 28-day inpatient treatment program is not the end of the story, it’s just the beginning. Statistics show in the treatment industry that the highest rate of relapse is in the first 60 days after treatment. With that said, after rehab is when the real work begins.
We will work with the patient while they are in treatment and according to their history and their needs we will recommend the proper aftercare approach. In conjunction with a patient’s primary counselor, our aftercare coordinator, Jennifer Masterson, meets with our patients to put a plan in place for after discharge from treatment. She will always recommend a 12-step program in order to correctly recover from this disease. She also utilizes various sober houses, halfway houses, transitional programs, and recovery homes that we works with.
For people who may need long term treatment past the 28 days that we offer, she has the knowledge and relationships with those facilities as well. At Clearbrook, we strongly encourage our patients and their loved ones follow our aftercare recommendations. It is a proven fact that when the professionals in addiction craft a plan and it is followed, the chances at long term recovery go up exponentially.
