Designed for the patients as a therapeutic tool during drug and/or alcohol treatment, the garden will be filled with plants and flowers that are native to the area. While in treatment, our patients sit in a lot of groups and lectures working on themselves and developing coping skills for when they leave. The garden offers our patients skills and behaviors that they’re going to need as well. The sense of accomplishment, working with others, and the alleviation of depression are things that help in the recovery process.
One line we hear in recovery is “we are not a glum lot.” At Clearbrook we also like to have fun. As staff, we smile when our patients smile. We will post more pictures through the spring and summer as everything starts to bloom.
