A person’s health, relationships, job, finances, and more can all be negatively impacted by the effects of substance abuse. Substance use disorders require comprehensive treatment led by experts in the addiction treatment field. All Clearbrook rehab locations offer various substance abuse levels of care and support for patients with severe drug and alcohol problems. Our residential treatment programs, available at both Clearbrook Massachusetts and Clearbrook Pennsylvania, are the main levels of care offered at our facilities, providing 24-hour support for long-term recovery.
What Is a Residential Treatment Facility?
A residential treatment facility is a licensed rehab center for individuals exhibiting symptoms of substance use disorders and/or other conditions like mental health disorders, eating disorders, and more. Otherwise referred to as an adult residential facility, residential treatment programs are designed for individuals 18 years and older and provide long-term care with an overlay or coordination of mental health care and therapy.
Clearbrook Treatment Centers offers a residential treatment program in two locations, one of which is known as Clearbrook Manor. Clearbrook Manor is an adult residential facility located in Northeastern Pennsylvania where patients live on-site during programming. A similar program is offered at our Massachusetts rehab center, where patients can enjoy the same level of comfort and care.
Treatment at both of our residential facilities is 28 days long and is divided into two components. The first step is medically assisted detox, a crucial medically-led process that addresses the withdrawal symptoms and cravings that patients often experience after quitting drugs and alcohol. It’s normal for the body to experience withdrawals after long-term substance abuse.
Medical detox is an important step at both of our locations, as it addresses withdrawals that could lead to health complications and be potentially life-threatening. For instance, opioids, alcohol, and benzodiazepines are known for producing highly intense and uncomfortable symptoms. These symptoms are often challenging enough to encourage relapse, stunting the individual’s recovery. For the sake of safety and completing treatment, detoxification is prioritized at our rehab centers.
Following detox, patients can then move on to the second step, which is the therapeutic stage of this program. This program is based on the belief that alcoholism and drug addiction are primary diseases, and long-term sobriety can be overcome when patients are separated from distractions. Therefore, patients are required to live on-site for the duration of their care to ensure they’re recovering distraction and temptation-free.
Our approach to understanding and treating substance use disorders is also based on the belief that combining substance-specific treatment and addiction therapies increases patients’ chances of regaining their sobriety. Therefore, we incorporate a variety of addiction therapy programs that take place in both groups and individual sessions conducted by primary counselors.
The Clearbrook family also includes a residential facility for mental health in Massachusetts. This center offers treatment for depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, and more. As an inpatient rehab, on-site living and in-depth therapy are also offered.
In addition to individual and group therapy, patients may also participate in a daily schedule of activities, including lectures, discussions, and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) 12-step meetings. By offering them additional avenues of support, our patients can thrive in our residential treatment programs.
