PHP Addiction Treatment for Veterans

If you or someone you care about is struggling with a substance use disorder, there are several levels of addiction treatment to choose from. Depending on your individual needs and the drug in question,  partial hospitalization program (PHP) addiction treatment may be an appropriate level of care or continuing care following residential treatment. Not only do we offer this form of care for all patients, but our Pennsylvania rehab is now offering a specialized PHP addiction program for veterans.

What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a type of outpatient treatment program that caters to people struggling with substance use disorders. Typically, a person entering a PHP requires a higher level of care than standard outpatient programs provide. People in partial hospitalization programs receive comprehensive treatment services and medical monitoring during the day but don’t stay overnight at our facility.

Sometimes referred to as a day treatment program, a partial hospitalization rehab program offers outpatient treatment services like drug counseling, individual and group therapy, access to medical care, and medication as needed. These individuals also have easy access to higher levels of addiction treatment

Partial hospitalization program hours range from 4 to 6 hours for 3 to 5 days a week each day while allowing patients to go home at night. Our veterans’ PHP addiction treatment is a more intensive program than typical outpatient programs, which may only meet once or twice a week.

Individuals entering PHP addiction treatment may be using it as a “step down” service after receiving treatment in an inpatient program. Partial hospitalization care is best for individuals who don’t require 24-hour supervision, are medically stable, have undergone medically supervised detox, and would benefit from a high level of support.

What Our Veterans’ PHP for Addiction Offers

Before addiction treatment services begin, our team runs a clinical assessment to determine the individual’s treatment plan. This plan is based on their needs, including the person’s history of addiction and/or co-occurring mental illness.

Veterans in our PHP addiction program may work closely with several different treatment professionals, including nurses, social workers, therapists, and psychiatrists, for a well-rounded form of care. Below are typical services offered in our PHP for veterans:

  • Medical detox
  • Medical services
  • Medication management
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Aftercare planning
  • Holistic treatment and amenities

What’s more, our partial hospitalization program for veterans is equipped to treat people with co-occurring disorders, which are especially common among this group. Considering the trauma that many veterans have experienced, it’s important that we offer them both physical and mental support for recovery.

Finding a Veterans Partial Hospitalization Program Near Me

Considering how specific our veterans’ PHP is, it’s difficult and even rare to find another program in the U.S. like it. This level of care is specifically designed to help past service members understand the reasoning behind their substance use disorders and mental illnesses, develop healthier lifestyles, and ultimately regain control of their health and lives. This group of individuals has done so much for us, so our drug rehab in Pennsylvania wants to serve them in the best way we know how.
