Dorm picWe know that going to a drug rehab or alcohol rehab is not always an easy decision to make.  For the addict/alcoholic, our minds scream to us that we can do this alone.  That we will stop using and drinking because our lives are unravelling before us.  The great majority of us are truly sorry for the things we have done to our children, our families, our employers, and everyone else we have come into contact with.  We really don’t want to behave like this.  The problem resides in trying to figure this out on our own.  We assure you that going to treatment for the disease of addiction greatly enhances your chances of sobriety.  We can honestly say that if you live your life the way we will show you, there is no need or want to return to the life of active addiction.

From your first phone call to our admissions staff we are going to start crafting a plan that is specific to you.   We will take all the pertinent information that our nursing staff will need for your alcohol detox or drug detox.  If you are accepted into our treatment program, our staff will inform you when your arrival date is and what time to be here.  In some cases transportation can be provided.  When you arrive at Clearbrook Manor, you will first do your intake with our nursing staff.  We would like to stress how important it is to tell the truth to our nursing staff.  Over the last 40 years we have heard everything.  There is no reason to be embarrassed or ashamed while you’re here.  You need to be honest about what, how often, and how much you are using and drinking.  We are going to provide you with a full medical detox to make the process of withdrawal as comfortable as possible.  Our nursing staff will take care of your physical health from the moment you walk through our doors until the day you are leaving.   The health and safety of our patients is our number one priority.

After detox, you will move into the dormitory for the remainder of your stay.  The dorms are separated between men and women.  You are assigned a primary counselor the day you arrive.  Your counselor will be available to you throughout your time at Clearbrook.  They will present you with a treatment plan for during and after your stay with us.  When you are not in one on one sessions with your counselor, you will be in groups and lectures throughout the day.  We have many different groups covering many topics.  Relapse prevention, gender groups, and AA/NA meetings to name a few.  You will also have free time to yourself during the day for recreation, laundry, or using the phone.

As your stay with us comes to an end, you will meet with your counselor and our Aftercare Coordinator.  An Aftercare Plan that addresses your specific needs and situation will be reviewed with you and put into place for when you discharge.  Every tool and resource will be placed at your disposal for you to use to maintain your sobriety.

This is a very broad description of your day to day activities while you are here.  In the coming weeks, we will describe in depth, everything we have to offer including pictures and brief descriptions of our living quarters, detox unit, and our dining facilities.
